Marley

In the spring of 2003 my daughter Amy was completing a year of teaching English in Taiwan. There are many stray dogs on the streets of Taiwan that people have decided they no longer want. Marley was one of those dogs. She was just a tiny puppy trying to survive on her own. Amy tried to find out who she belonged to but with no success so she decided to care for her until her owner could be found. As the months went by it was obvious that she would be staying. She was shy and timid but quickly sensed that she was loved and had found a home. Marley was quick to learn and was always well behaved.

As my daughter prepared to return to Canada, little Marley was given all the neccessary innoculations and was micro-chipped---in Chinese!. She made the long 18 hour flight in a crate in the baggage compartment without even going to the bathroom the entire time! Marley quickly adapted to life in Canada, even seeming to love the snow and cold in winter. She seems to appreciate her new life and brings happiness to everyone she meets. We have enjoyed having Marley live with us this past year while Amy attended teacher's college in Australia. We look forward to our weekly visits to Peterborough Manor and hope to continue as long as possible.
