Charmion and John Edwardes-Evans know all about community service. They have been devoted therapy dog visitors since the fall of 1994, sharing the love of their dogs, Scooter, Barnaby, Cari and Ginger, with the residents of Fairhaven here in Peterborough. They have also provided pastoral care at Fairhaven for Mark Street United Church. They have volunteered at the Lumpy Factory helping handicapped and challenged people create beautiful crafts. Charmion is the artist who has written the lovely calligraphy on our certificates and also designed our Christmas cards! And John has always been available to participate in any special events with the therapy dogs. Charmion has recently moved to Rubidge Retirement Residence and is now on the receiving end of therapy dog visits when Carol MacDowell and her dog, Mindy, drop by. John is currently in hospital recovering from a stroke. We hope that the therapy dog visits will brighten their days as they have brightened so many days for others through their selfless volunteer work. Best wishes, Charmion and John, and many thanks for your devoted service with the therapy dog program. You have set a fine example for us.
