For Better or For Worse

Posted by Anne Corke on 2007-06-27. Filed under Monthly Feature

We are all familiar with Lynn Johnston's humourous cartoon strip "For Better or For Worse". In her depiction of the trials and tribulations of the everyday life of the Pattersons, she has introduced us to their various pets and we have laughed at their familiar antics. There's the cat, Shiimsa, the rabbits, Butterscotch and Mr. B., and of course, the dogs, Farley, Edgar and Dixie. Perhaps the most famous of the Patterson pets is Farley, the Old English Sheepdog, who sacrificed his own life to save young April from a raging river. Although the Patterson pets are often in some sort of trouble, they are cherished family members. The positive impact of their unconditional love is illustrated in this strip from February 2007.
As therapy dog visitors, we have seen first hand the magic, the power of our pets to brighten someone's day.
Take a moment to visit the For Better or For Worse website at: www.fborfw.com where you can catch up with the Pattersons and with Lynn. Thanks, Lynn. You always brighten our day!
