It is really rewarding. We also go to a nursing home and there are days that I find we were more of a comfort to the staff than the residents and that's ok as long as we have made someone's day.             

 

Somewhat like Hospice, sometimes it is more about the families than the patient. I hope things go as well as they can for you and your mom.       

 

I am a retired teacher and I can totally relate to the staff and nurses needing comfort. Again thank you and big hugs to your dog.
